Norway Square
No two the same
Take a moment to sit and look around Norway Square and you will notice that every element on each building is different. No two rooflines, doors or windows are the same. I used an acrylic base on board enhanced with collage, before completing the work with further acrylic, oil paint and oil pastels.

Surrounding the chimney
In Norway Square there are many interesting buildings but one large chimney catches my attention, particularly when the morning sun highlights the fascinating brickwork.

Framed by plants
The buildings around Norway Square are bordered by plants and flowers particularly in the summer months. These instil a peaceful calm in this corner of St Ives

Different doors
Norway Square has so many doors! While most clearly show where they lead, a few have no obvious purpose at all.

All round the square
Wherever you are in Norway Square, look up to catch a glimpse of this iconic window on the front of the building that houses the gallery of the St Ives Society of Artists.

Every wall different
When I sit sketching in Norway Square the morning sun often highlights the many fascinating textures on the walls and chimney pots

Rooflines
At the top of Norway Square the sky outlines the highest rooflines, while lower down layers of buildings reveal a variety of intriguing roofs.
