Hidden cove

As I walk along the southwest coastal path from St Ives to Zennor, this cove nestlered between the rocks catches my attention every time I pass by.

Morning arrives

I love the early morning on a calm day in summer when the rays of the sun reflect on the sea and highlight Godrevy lighthouse.

Surrounded by Surf

As you look down from the end of The Island in St Ives where the sea meets the land, the movement of the sea is ever changing. On stormy days the rocks seem tobe surrounded and enclosed by surf.

Emerging calm

As I sit on the side of the Island in St Ives and look towards Old Man's Head, the sea calms as it nears the shore but the distant waves have movement and power.

Fishing at sunrise

As the sun was rising across the harbour in St Ives, a group of fishing boats were highlighted in the reflected patch of sunlight.

Light beyond the Rain

Looking out from Porthmeor Beach across the end of The Island as the rain sweeps in across St Ives Bay. In the distance the horizon begins to lighten heralding the end of the squall.

Awakening sky

For me the first rays of dawn across St Ives Bay brings with it a depth of colour that changes as the sky lightens.

Swirling Tide

This painting is of a favourite cove seen below the path from Porthmeor Beach towards Zennor. This began as a realistic image but as I worked towards capturing the texture of the rocks and the movement of the sea, it drifted into semi abstraction.

A Moment in Time

This is a view inspired by my walk along the southwest coastal path between Lelant and Carbis Bay. Looking out over the rolling sand dunes beyond Porthkidney Beach on a clear day Godrevy Lighthouse dominates the distant horizon
